If you are wondering what all the discussion is about Cloud Computing and how it may impact your IT department then the book authored by technology industry veterans Bob Loranzo and Eric Marks will certainly interest you.

The book title is the "Executive's Guide to Cloud Computing," to be published by Wiley and available in Fall 2009.

The book will cover cloud computing in detail and provide the C-suite executives a detailed look on how it will impact their IT department. Some of the topics that will be covered include:

    * Why cloud computing must be a top priority on their companies' IT roadmaps;
    * How the drive for scale, lower costs and greater agility is making cloud computing a fiscal and technological imperative;
    * The relationship between cloud computing, SOA, web services, and other relevant IT initiatives;
    * The strategic implications of cloud computing on the enterprise;
    * Where to begin and how to get started integrating cloud computing into their existing operations.

Lozano is the founder and chief strategist at Appistry, a pioneer in cloud computing for the enterprise, and a popular speaker on cloud computing and related topics. Marks is president and CEO of AgilePath, an innovative information technology (IT) professional services firm focused on solving CIO/CTO management, technology and operational challenges, as well as facilitating DoD and Commercial adoption of emerging technologies such as Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Cloud Computing.

We think executives will find value in a guide that tells them what they need to know about the technologies behind cloud computing and, more importantly, how those technologies apply to their business.

"For all the excitement in the industry around cloud computing, there's surprisingly little information available from the perspective of the enterprise executive," said Lozano. "And with the enterprise emerging as the next battleground for the cloud, Eric and I knew it would be important to provide a resource for tackling the issues and concerns specific to the enterprise."
